2025 PNWCTA SEED AUCTION
This year the Seed Orchard committee is offering nine seed lots, described below. All seed lots are selected for improved Christmas tree traits. All seed lots are stored at IFA Nurseries, Inc., 1885 N. Holly St., Canby, OR 97013. You will be notified once bidding has ended, if you were successful in your bid. You will be given information on how to proceed with picking up, shipping, or storing your seed.
Submit your bids for any of the available Seed Lots listed below. To ensure your bids are accepted, please provide complete contact information.

The PNWCTA Seed Auction is a members only benefit. Any bidder that is not current with their PNWCTA dues will not be eligible for participation in the seed auction and their bids will be deleted. To become a member, visit www.PNWCTA.org today!
Auction closes September 15, 2025.
All bids are final at the closing of the auction. Winners will receive a notification of winning bids. Invoices will go out September 16, 2025. Shipping and handling fees apply and are not included in the bid price.
AVAILABLE SEED LOTS
Noble fir
- Hostetlers SO OR (20 and 22) This seed is an “orchard run” collection from either 2020 or 2022. The orchard is a collection of top Riley Peak/Fanno Ridge families and grower identified families. Derald Hostetler and others identified an excellent location on his farm for the orchard.
Douglas-fir (all from the PNWCTA contract orchard at Lebanon, OR)
- 0-53 22- This family was first identified by Dr. Roy Silen in a 1979 progeny test that included 94 families. The source has been included in a number of subsequent progeny trials and performs well. It is an early bud breaking source.
- 0-53 24 Same source as above. Seed harvested in 2024.
- BC Clones 22. This is mix of a number of top Texada Island, British Columbia family sources. These tend to have outstanding color and average to late bud break timing.
- Bulk 24 This is an orchard run collection from 2024. It includes a mix of 7 additional families identified in the 94 parent trial.
- Lots 22- Same as the Bulk 24 sources, but collected in 2022.
- Ramsby 1-22 This source was identified by Marybell Ramsby in the 94 Parent Trail. It has been a consistent top source in subsequent progeny trials. It is an early bud breaking source.
- Val-3 22 Collected in the Valsetz area of Oregon by Barney Douglass. A consistent top performing family with late bud breaking.
